Publishers. The engraving belongs to a vast series of several hundred antique prints specially engraved on copper and dedicated to all fields of human knowledge. Publisher: Giuseppe Pomba, bookseller, typographer and publisher born in Turin in 1795 and died in 1876, considered the first in Italy to pass from the ancient printing regime to a modern publishing enterprise. He began his activity in Turin in 1818, developing his activity between classical works, periodicals and wide-ranging encyclopedic works. In 1829 he engraving for the first time in color and in the following years he was the precursor of the development of engraving in Italy.
